The one thing that I will order no matter what is on the menu is a spicy margarita. It's a personality trait at this point. Maybe that's because it's something that I've not easily been able to make on my own at home—until now. I recently stumbled across these Capsco tea bags that are infused with different peppers and instantly spice up anything that you dip them into. I must say, thanks to Capsco, I now make one of the best spicy margaritas in all of New York City.
Right now, I'm focusing on upgrading my casual outfits. And, let's be real, any gym outfit looks 10 times better paired with a Balenciaga baseball cap. I also bought this chic Stussy x Nike collab to elevate my cozy airport outfits. This July, it was peak summer heat here in the city: the season when standing on the subway platform is sweltering and walking around the city is hot, humid, and, quite frankly, miserable. However, one little item saved me from enduring the city's most tortuous summer days—a tiny, compact portable fan that is not only rechargeable, but also easily fits inside my purse and is ready to go when I need a jolt of cool, fresh air.
Fabric, pattern-making, sampling, trims, sewing, handwork, packaging, duties, shipping: This is an incomplete list of what you're paying for when you buy a new T-shirt. And that's before a wholesale markup (i.e., the profit a brand makes on the item) or the additional retail markup if you're buying it in a store. Read that again, and the idea of a T-shirt being "worth" $5 might seem preposterous, if not criminal. How is it possible that all of those materials, logistics, and people amount to just dollars or cents. Many of those costs are fixed; the price of cotton isn't negotiable, even at scale. The person who made the T-shirt, on the other hand, is a lot easier to exploit.
